For Serda, this role is both professional and deeply personal. Born and raised in Detroit, he takes pride in cooking close to home. His connection to food began early—his grandparents and father both owned food operations, and by his mid-teens he was already working in kitchens. Starting as a baker’s assistant and dishwasher, he learned the rhythms of the industry from the ground up and fell in love with the fast-paced, creative environment of restaurant life.
